Introduction

The group Stage Positioning Modules is part of the cluster Mechanical Development and is responsible for the design of optical sensor systems, like interferometers and image sensors.
All those Sensors and measurement systems need to be mounted to specific modules and subsystems often utilizing bolted connections. Since those connections need to be stable a specific and often high pretension of the bolted connection is a design goal.

Your assignment

The scope of your internship is to evaluate a set of bolted connections including the related description to identify and implement optimizations of the technical product documentation regarding their related torque values. 

This is a mbo/bachelor apprentice internship (to gain work experience) for a duration of 3-5 months months. The starting date is asap, latest in September 2025.

Your Profile

To be a perfect fit for this assignment, you:

  • Have background in mechanical engineering;

  • Have NX CAD experience;

  • Have an understanding and/or experience of bolted connections, glue connections;

  • Have good knowledge of excel and you are familiar with vision;

  • Are solution oriented, communicative, and have hands-on mentality;

Other requirements you need to meet

  • You are enrolled at an educational institute for the entire duration of the internship;

  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, your CV/motivation letter includes the willingness to relocate.

  • If you are a non-EU citizen, studying in the Netherlands, your university is willing to sign the documents relevant for doing an internship (i.e., Nuffic agreement).
