Introduction to the job

Within ASML, the YieldStar Sustaining engineer at Linkou Factory works closely with counterparts located in ASML, Netherlands, and is responsible for the products including YieldStar, System and Bottom Module Assembly module. The engineer is responsible for YieldStar system and module design improvement, issue escalation and resolution in field and factory after the product reaches High Volume Manufacturing phase.

Role and responsibilities

To contribute to the development of the YieldStar product and to contribute to the precision mechatronic aspects related to manufacturing of YieldStar systems and troubleshooting, resulting in quick fixes and structural solutions.

Roadmap Definition

  • Define new break-through architectures or owns architecture increments for more efficient and reliable mechatronic concepts and modules that contribute to fulfilling ASML's product roadmap

Feasibility Studies

  • Analyze uncertainties and risks, and contribute to feasibility studies

Critical Component Selection

  • Participate in trade-off studies and (parallel) solution developments to determine the preferred component(s) and/or technology to realize desired functionality

  • Able to assess when complexity and impact of problems/changes exceeds own knowledge and knows when to rely on and involve others

Expert Advice

  • Develop an instinct for potential failure modes.

Test specification and Verification

  • Define testing methods and/or oversee testing

  • Verify deliverables and new products in own field of specialization on component level so that parts and deliverables meet specifications and comply with quality, safety and relevant regulation

  • Review/check test specification and assess whether definition of test is appropriate for required outcomes

Documentation & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain documentation on specifications,

  • Design and test analysis, historical decision trees and decision making that led to the current design (trade tables and decision flowcharts)

  • Ensure filing of relevant information in the filing system, so that information is up-to-date and easily accessible for relevant parties

  • Record the " How" and "Why" behind the path taken to get where we are in order to help in failure analysis and to prevent repeating mistakes

Knowledge Development

  • Keep up with technological and (supplier) market developments, related to own field of specialization and development workflow

  • Develop and maintain own network and exchange knowledge with other professionals

Project Management

  • Contribute to defining work packages in assigned projects by translating Epics into features

Budgets and definitions

  • Create budgets and definitions for own domain (e.g. ASSY's, building blocks, integration domains)

People Development

  • Show passion and hunger for knowledge and be coachable and motivated to self-study

Education and experience

  • Master Degree in Mechatronic Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering

  • 3+ years design engineer experience

Skills

  • Familiar with Matlab program

  • Familiar with motion control design algorithm and mechatronics design principle

  • Wave optic/Interferometer knowledge is a plus
