Job Mission

ASML, the market leader in the semiconductor lithography equipment, is looking to fill the role of Lead Engineer in the repair center in China. The mission of the repair center  is to reduce waste, re-use materials and promote the circular economy. The lead engineer is the technical specialist who determines the solution direction for failing parts, and define a repair strategy.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.

Role and responsibilities

In this role you are responsible to determine the solution direction to repair broken service parts. This is done by analyzing the history of the part, determine the actual failure of the part, and defining the solution direction and the competences that are required to repair the part. Furthermore, a test and validation plan needs to be created to ensure that the repaired part is fully functional and meeting technical specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming inspection and confirm repairability of incoming materials
  • Perform root cause analysis on failure modes and determine most effective solution direction to repair the part and test functionality
  • Collaborate with internal global engineering teams to share knowledge, confirm root cause analysis and solution direction
  • Liaise with external repair partners to develop solutions to repair parts
  • Design repair components and provide technical guidance work to local material suppliers to build prototype components
  • Act as technical point of contact for the sourcing department; support technical selection and qualification of suppliers
  • Qualify repaired parts and validate functionality according to specifications
  • Support and instruct repair engineers on repair method and test strategy
  • Document issue resolution method and share knowledge

Secure safe repair methods; compliant to EHS standards

Education and experience

Master of technical engineering - Specialized in mechatronics.

Experience

  • 8+ years technical engineering in Research & Development or Design & Engineering in a technology advanced industry
  • Cooperation with external partners to co-develop and validate technical solutions
  • Stakeholder management in a complex organizational structure
  • Project management
