Introduction

The sector Development & Engineering (D&E) of ASML is responsible for the specification, design, and realization of the products in the ASML portfolio. Within the sector D&E the cluster Electronic Development is responsible for the definition, realization, qualification and integration of electronic functions and modules within these products.

Your Assignment

As an intern for the Electronic Development team, your assignment will be to:

  • Reduce the number of AC-DC power supplies with a limited number of universal power supplies (Many to one concept).

  • Investigate the implementation of universal power supplies to improve the existing lifecycle management.

  • Propose an alternative power supply architecture/design concept.

Your main tasks will involve:

1. Understanding the problem, specifying the main requirements.

  • Technical bucketing of the existing power supplies using data management. Work through documentation to assess all key specifications of the power supplies & categorize them on relevant technical specifications.

  • Feasibility studies of the universal power supply or many to one concept without compromising functional requirements.

  • Investigate how to reduce the number of power supplies with a limited number of universal power supplies.

2. Analyzing how the current modules can be migrated to make use of the new solution proposed.

3. Design & investigate an alternative power supply architecture concept.

4. Collaborate with suppliers, internal teams.

5. Write a report with the results found, including proposals for the alternative solution and provide solid conclusions and recommendations.

This is a bachelor graduation project or a master apprentice internship (gain work experience), for a duration of 5-6 months, and minimum 4 days per week.

Your Profile

To be the perfect match for this internship, you:

  • Are a student in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar fields;

  • Have knowledge on AC-DC power supplies, power electronics, datasheet Interpretation, electrical & mechanical designs;

  • Have knowledge in Excel, simulation skills (Spice, Simulink etc.);

  • Are eager to look for the information and the data needed to perform the analysis (by asking module experts, reading specification documents, analyzing datasheets, drawings, etc.);

  • Are proactive and a team-player;

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship;

  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, please include in your CV/motivation letter willingness to relocate.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
