At ASML we highly value the quality of electrical designs for our DUV and EUV lithography systems. That is why the electrical design engineers within our Sensors & Light Sources group focus on designing, validation & integration of racks, cabinets, electro-optical modules and more in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders. Our designs allow ASML systems to measure wafers to the utmost precision, enabling Moore’s law to continue its unrelenting pace.

Role and responsibilities

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you are defining, realizing, qualifying, managing and maintaining various electrical concepts and products for both existing and new ASML products. Furthermore you contribute on defining the next generation of these products in close cooperation with the architect.

The concepts and products mainly focused on by this role are cables, racks, cabinets, passive interconnections PCBA and visualizing these into schematics. Your projects will mainly be focused on racks and modules for optical sensors and light sources applications.

The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the following:

  • Get clear design requirements by aligning with stakeholders both within your project as well as from projects that your design interfaces with;
  • Design, document and maintain electrical modules and electrical infrastructure, ensuring quality (safety, EMC, serviceability, manufacturability, etc) and compliance to international standards;
  • Create and maintain electrical technical drawings/schematics (functional overviews, high level block diagrams, detailed wiring diagrams, cable overviews, etc)
  • Testing and qualification of the electrical modules you are responsible for;
  • Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis and find solutions to reliability issues.

Education and experience

Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical or Electronics engineering is required, with 7 or more years of work experience with the following topics:

  • Design of electrical or electronic modules, such as cables, racks, cabinets, PCBA (passive/interconnections PCBA).
  • Laboratory experience with testing and/or integration of electronic/electrical modules.
  • Experience with compliance to international electrical standards (NFPA, SEMI) is a plus.

Within the sector D&E the department Electronic Development (EL) is responsible for the definition, realization, qualification and integration of electronic functions and modules within these products.
