Introduction

Customer Supply Chain Management (CSCM) is responsible to ensure material availability in the field on time, in full, and at the right quality and cost for our customers.

Within CSCM team, the Operations Manager oversees a broad range of activities and services related to Material On-Time Delivery (OTD), 3PL performance, Inventory control & Material Quality and Project management.

Job Mission        

Ensure excellence in all aspects of warehousing, freight, In-Fab material handling, quality and project management for Japan region. Ensure that daily operations perform within SLA, cost, scope and safety requirements.

Job Description

Manage customer supply chain operations within Japan region. Responsible for managing performance, day-to-day operations, third party vendors, while building up relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers to meet long term customer roadmaps.

Responsibilities related to:

Performance Management

  • Manage operations team that is responsible for warehousing, freight, in-fab logistics, quality and project management .
  • Monitor performance of third party logistics (3PL) providers to uphold contractual service level agreements and OTD targets.
  • Plans, organizes, directs, and staffs regional warehouses—driving efficient operations and identifying capability/capacity constraints before they occur.
  • Work closely with corporate logistics support organization to work through local site issues related to staffing, infrastructure and adherence to SLA’s.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in HQ to improve/optimize local operation.
  • Oversee the execution of Value Added Services (VAS) performed by local vendors and 3PL’s
  • Secure relevant performance reporting to stakeholders improvements.

Cost Management

  • Determine annual staffing and infrastructure requirements based on business growth
  • Work with 3PL’s to reduce local freight costs and cost overruns by creating more transparency and predictability in local operations.
  • Optimize VAS programs, while driving a 7% annual cost reduction initiatives.

Stakeholder Account Management

  • Manage and improve both internal and external customer relationships, communication and performances on a day-to-day basis. Meet with and provide reports while supporting continuous improvements.

Leadership - Process, People and Development

  • High focus on process standardization and efficiencies via LEAN methodologies
  • Ensure the right capacity and capabilities of your team to execute all activities
  • Develop staff training, personal growth and skill proficiencies

Experience:

  • 10+ years of relevant field experience in a complex customer oriented (supply chain/logistics) environment (minimum Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or Supply Chain, preferable master degree)
  • Knowledge of business complexity, supply chain and/or relevant industry
  • Exceptional Excel, analytical and ERP (SAP) system skills
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems & Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
  • Must be capable of defining, analyzing and resolving complicated problems.
  • Experience in implementing of new processes across the supply chain against agreed costs
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Practical execution of project management / change management
  • Knowledge and experience on LEAN methodologies preferred

  • Leadership skills, drive for results, ability to perform under high pressure and timelines
  • Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing, logistics, process mapping and project management techniques highly valued.
  • Excellent social and communication (both written and verbal) skills and stakeholders management skills
  • Service minded and customer dedicated
  • Strong data analysis and problem solving abilities
  • Result oriented Team player with a convincing pro-active attitude, “can do” mentality, flexible and highly committed
  • Competencies in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Remain flexible in providing after hours support, as needed
  • Knowledge of ASML supply chain procedures is preferred

Locations

  • Located in Tokyo/Yokkaichi
  • This position is reporting to the Senior Manager of Japan Customer Supply Chain Management
  • Travel possible (Domestic/International): 20%-30%

Context of the position

Customer Supply Chain is responsible for all customer supply chain activities (machines deliveries, upgrades at customer sites, spare parts management), inbound and outbound flows to and from the factories.

Strong interfaces with other supply chain departments, ASML Factories, Central Planning, Field offices, Account Team and Customer Service departments will be required.
